- Original was an oil painting on canvas by Alonzo Chappel. It depicts the Battle of Lundy's Lane which occurred in July 1814. American Infantry attacks, the wounded officer at center is Brigadier General Jacob Brown, formerly Colonel, New York State Militia, later to be Commanding General, United States Army
